  • Print

The Finnish one and only love metal band, HIM, will release a special limited edition vinyl box set in late November under the title Lashes To Ashes, Lust To Dust: A Vinyl Retrospective '96-'03 via End Records on 25th November. The box set will contain the band's essential and first four full length albums of their discography, Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666, Razorblade Romance, Deep Shadows And Brilliant Highlights and Love Metal as well as the band's debut 1996 EP 666 Ways To Love: Prologue. All full lengths will be released  as 2CD deluxe reissue with re-mastered versions of the songs and each containing previously unreleased songs as well as re-mastered versions of the songs on a standard 140 gram vinyl; the first time HIM will ever be releasing on vinyl. The EP however, will be released on a 180 gram vinyl. The box set of Heartagram joy will also include an exclusive Heartagram logo slipmat and a USB drive with 37 bonus tracks and also all the songs from the LPs; containing all together 80 songs. Pre-ordering is already available at this location. One of the bonus tracks revealed in an unreleased version of "Right Here In My Arms" from a HIM concert at El Teatro Flores in Buenos Aires in April. The first man of love metal, the band's creative wheel and frontman Ville Valo commented on the box set by saying: "We feel truly blessed to have our sonic offspring of yore being given a new lease on life in the U.S. by the End Records, the home for many of our aural idols, both old and new. The infamous love metal archives have been extensively scoured by us for rare, exclusive and downright scary musical nuggets for an experience in Finnish melancholy like no other, so please consider yourself warned." At the end of the year, more precisely on 31st December, HIM will also be playing at Helldone festival at Tavastia Club, Helsinki – the band's hometown, which lasts from 29th to 31st; but sorry HIM fans who don't have their ticket yet: the last day of the festival is already sold out. US fans will however be delighted to see the band in December on the dates and venues listed below. Link
