FINNR'S CANE - New Album Out In July, First Single Available For Streaming

Canadian atmospheric post-black metal band Finnr's Cane are pleased to announce that they will release their third album Elegy via Prophecy Productions on 20th July. The album is the band's follow up to 2013's A Portrait Painted By The Sun. In addition, the first single from the album "Strange Sun" has been officially released to coincide with the new album announcement.
The band commented: ""Strange Sun is a song that celebrates traditional black metal, and in this regard it is a unique song compared to the others included on Elegy. The album has a fair share of moments that inspire quiet introspection, but "Strange Sun" is a song that was made for head banging. Lyrically the song deals with the difficult emotions and mental states that come from the darkness and isolation of Northern winters."
Elegy is the third full length from Prophecy Productions atmospheric black metal stalwarts Finnr's Cane. The Canadian band has been carefully plotting a follow up to 2013's A Portrait Painted By The Sun and the next chapter in their musical journey falls perfectly in conjunction with the bands 10th birthday. The band have come a long way from their 2010 debut, Wanderlust, by embracing broader instrumentation and focusing more on structure. The use of cello instead of bass guitar in particular makes this band unique. With themes of urban desolation, loss and grieving, personal struggle, the rebirth of the natural world, the quiet hours of the early morning, and the passage of time, Elegy is the logical next step for Finnr's Cane.
