Montreal (Canada) based post-punk/coldwave band The City Gates released a music video for their song "Claiming Race". The song is from their in 2021 released album Age Of Resilience (Velouria Recordz/Icy Cold Records). Their sound can be described as a hybrid mixture of post-punk, shoegaze, darkwave and coldwave elements, and it will appeal in the first place to fans of Jesus And Mary Chain, Love And Rockets, and The Chameleons.

With its pulsating drums, fuzz-drenched bass line and endless layers of hypnotic, cathedralesque guitars, "Claiming Race", from  The City Gates' critically acclaimed offering Age Of Resilience full-length, brings us back to the glory days of early late-night MTV, lustful teenage angst and the memory of the one that got away, shrouded in a veil of overdriven expectations. The video was produced and edited by Jahanzaib Mirza. Mirza is also The City Gates' drum player. Link
