Dark Music Awards 2013 Final Results: HERE

Avatarium - Avatarium: What else than a doom metal masterpiece can be expected from a Swedish "all star" band which features in its line up Leif Edling (Candlemass), Marcus Jidell (Evergrey), Carl Westholm (Candlesmass), Lars Sköld (Tiamat) and one of the best female singers ever witnessed in doom genre Jennie-Ann Smith. Indeed, Avatariums debut is a doom masterpiece by all means. Links: Website, Facebook

Caladan Brood - Echoes Of Battle: Epic and atmospheric black metal that owes a big deal to masters of the genre Summoning, did an album that must be counted as one of the highlights of the genre. Great sonic escapades that lead the listener into mysterious sagas of Middle Earth. Dreamy, evil, emotional and blazing march into the battle. Links: Facebook

Falkenbach - Asa: Asa combines elements from all creative periods of this long running German Vikings. It surprises with steady flow of both mellow and aggressive passages, blends harsh vocals with clean singing in an almost extinct West Germanic dialect and is once more remarkably epic as well as wistful. LowCityRain - LowCityRain: LowCityRain's debut album is a perfect sountrack for all nostalgic romantic people out there. Major part of album is very personal and intimate musical journey. There's a lot for fans of most intimate and chilling moments of godfathers The Cure, Sad Lovers & Giants or Killing Joke, as well as modern era chillwave artists like M83 and Washed Out to name a few. Mono Inc. - Nimmermehr: The Hamburg rock/gothic-band succeeds with Nimmermehr the true feat of re-inventing themselves, to stay true to their sound and yet bring a new Mono Inc. dimension to the market. Catchy melodies accompanied by great sense for poetry goes immediately in the ear. Links: Website, Facebook

Mourning Beloveth - Formless: The fifth album from this Irish death/doom metal band shows the most mature and powerful songs till now. One of the darkest and richest in sound doom metal albums ever. Such an obscure, yet very passionate musical experience. Links: Website, Facebook

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Push The Sky Away: Gently peeking through the borders of their comfort zone, Nick Cave & co. have released another unique, thoughtful and obscure album. Themes of love and death with (sometimes vivid) sexual imagery with mesmerizing atmosphere, embodied in minimalistic sound. Links: Website, Facebook
