SHABDA - Signed A Record Deal With Argonauta Records

Argonauta Records is proud to announce the signing of Italian ritual/drone/doom band Shabda. The band which uses to create music one laptop, one sitar and one guitar was formed in 2012 by Anna Airoldi, Marco Castagnetto and Riccardo Fassone, who had previously worked together in Thee Maldoror Kollective, Shabda has started crafting meditative, repetitive sounds, with the aim to fuse Indian music, doom metal and minimalist exploration into a trance inducing, often somber droning ritual. Shabda released their debut album entitled The Electric Bodhisattva in February this year through Paradigms Records, and will release a new album entitled Tummo in February 2014. The new album Tummo focuses on kundalini alchemy by means of deep guitar tunes, microtonal intervals and ritual documents recorded in Varanasi, Sarnath and Amber. If you want to hear how Shabda sounds like, then listen to some songs from their debut in a Bandcamp player below. Link
