Dutch witch‑rock visionary Annicke Shireen unveils her new single “Loud Hag”, accompanied by an official music video. The track is taken from her forthcoming debut solo album Delirium, set for release on 13 November, and stands as one of the record’s most uncompromising statements.

“Loud Hag” is a manifesto of defiance — a reclamation of a term historically used to belittle women and a refusal to shrink, soften, or apologise. Shireen transforms the insult into a banner of power, confronting the expectations placed on women to be quiet, agreeable, and endlessly palatable. Instead, she embraces the idea of being “too loud, too old, too opinionated, too difficult” and turns it into something worth celebrating.

Driven by metal‑leaning guitar riffs and Shireen’s signature high, layered feminine vocals, the track becomes a soundtrack for unlearning social conditioning and stepping into the version of oneself that was never meant to fit the mould. Its volume is intentional — loudness as resistance, loudness as identity, loudness as liberation.

Speaking about the single, Shireen explains: “I refuse the idea that anger of women needs to be softened, explained or made palatable. To me rage is a compass, and it is an important creative force. ‘Loud Hag’ is me taking a word that was meant to put a woman back in her place and making it powerful — something to claim with pride.”

Annicke Shireen is widely known as the frontwoman of Shireen and, through her work with Heilung and Pure Reason Revolution, has built a multidisciplinary career that merges music, performance, and visual art. Her solo project brings these worlds together: she writes and produces her own music while crafting the visual universe around it — from music videos to self‑designed stagewear, informed by her background in fashion design. Several of her videos have already reached millions of views, underscoring her ability to create immersive, ritualistic aesthetics that amplify the emotional core of her sound.

With “Loud Hag”, Annicke Shireen steps further into her own mythology — fierce, unapologetic, and unmistakably hers. Link
