US dark electro/futurepop project Ashes Tomorrow, the brainchild of Richard Cranor (formerly of FleischKrieg), has released its new EP, Terminal, accompanied by a visualiser for the record's standout track, "Prey".

Blending the hypnotic pulse of EBM and futurepop with the melancholic undertones of darkwave, Ashes Tomorrow delves into the darker corners of human desire and experience.

Speaking about "Prey", Cranor explains: "'Prey' - the pleasure of surrender - an exploration of your dominant nature and the willing submission of partners who enjoy the dynamics of pleasure and surrender".

Terminal is a six-track EP built around a deceptively simple question: is a dead end truly the end of the road, or the beginning of something new? The title draws on the dual meaning of the word itself. A terminal can signify both a final destination and a gateway into the unknown. This tension between finality and possibility forms the conceptual backbone of the release.

As the former vocalist and songwriter of industrial metal outfit FleischKrieg, Cranor established his musical foundations in aggressive, confrontational electronic music. With Ashes Tomorrow, he ventures further into the realms of darkwave, EBM and synth-driven alternative sounds, exchanging some of industrial metal's guitar-led intensity for atmospheric electronics, pulsating rhythms and darker melodic textures.

With both the "Prey" track and the Terminal EP, Ashes Tomorrow continues to refine a sound that balances electro-infused aggression with the restless energy of underground dance music.

Terminal is already available on Bandcamp and will arrive on all major streaming platforms by 14 November. Link
