Swedish dark metal force Eleine continue their steady ascent with the release of their powerful new single and visualiser, “We March”, accompanied by the reveal of the title of their forthcoming fifth studio album, The Water Taste Of Blood.
The band hints that this is only the beginning: “With every new single release, news about the upcoming album will be revealed.”
Following “Empire Of Lies”, issued earlier this year (check it out over HERE), the new track offers another glimpse into the thematic and sonic world shaping The Water Taste Of Blood. “We March” is driven by muscular riffing, a distinct 90s groove, and Eleine’s trademark blend of determination, darkness, and defiance. Lyrically, the song centres on perseverance — carrying scars, confronting inner battles, and finding the strength to rise again.
In a statement, Eleine elaborate on the song’s core message: “Many of us are burdened by our flesh and our minds, making us question how we can live in this life. Even at our darkest there is a burning desire to survive. But how? We march, this is how. Everyone is facing their own battles. No matter what it is; it is real and heavy to you. ‘We March’ paints the picture of us all still breathing after the sun slowly fades. You faced and conquered yet another day – that is a win. When morning light comes, we get ourselves ready for another fight. Along the way, we will find those who will fight alongside us. Choose your surroundings, your family, your people. We march at dawn, still alive.”
The release arrives ahead of Eleine’s largest headline tour to date, running from October through December across Europe and the UK. More than 30 shows in 13 countries will bring new material and fan favourites to stages throughout the continent, culminating in an exclusive album‑release performance in Lund, Sweden, on 5 December.
With “We March”, Eleine reaffirm their position as one of the most compelling acts in modern dark metal — a band whose music continues to champion resilience, unity, and the will to endure. Link
