Embers Of Dawn venture further into the realms of doom and gothic metal with their new single, "The Passing". A touching tribute to Type O Negative and Peter Steele, its rich atmosphere and doom‑laden weight draw the listener deep into the darkness of this introspective track.
The band explain: "At its core, the lyrics reflect mortality, loneliness, and the inevitability of death. The song emphasises emptiness, futility, and indifference... and if that wasn't dreary enough, the nihilistic elements of the lyrics are apparent as the song suggests life and death might go unnoticed and that the universe really offers no inherent significance".
The haunting introduction of "The Passing" soon builds into a rhythmic arrangement of chugging guitars, metallic percussion hits, and industrial electronics. Sombre, low vocal lines enhance the track's gothic character, while powerful bursts of intensity add further depth. Produced, mixed, and mastered by Richii Wainwright, "The Passing" showcases the band's ability to craft immersive, heavy sonic landscapes.
Embers Of Dawn are preparing to release their debut album, Infernal Culture, later this year — follow the links HERE for more information and to revisit the previously revealed tracks. Link
