Germany's black metal band Haeresis has shared further details about its upcoming debut album, Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum. The album will come out on 10 October via Vendetta Records, followed by a ten-day tour starting on 17 October.
After three years of focused songwriting and creative collaboration, the album marks the pivotal moment in the band's artistic evolution. Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum - Latin for "If you want peace, prepare for war" - is a powerful and dynamic fusion of genres. The album channels the raw energy of black metal, the expansive atmosphere of cinematic scores, and the relentless weight of post-metal into a multilayered and unflinching sonic experience.
Lyrically, vocalist Christin Graunke explores the fractures of contemporary existence, addressing postmodern alienation, the destructive grip of organised religion, and the brutal mechanics of imperialist aggression. In addition, guest vocalists Natalya Androsova (Machukha) and Yaryna Borynets (Salt Falls, Lori) add haunting and visceral depth that amplifies the emotional resonance of the album.
At the creative centre is Daniel Ringl of Lichtlaerm Audio, whose songwriting and production give the album its unmistakable identity. The final mix and mastering by acclaimed producer Dave Otero shape the sound into an uncompromising yet immersive listening experience.
With Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum, Haeresis invites listeners into a soundscape that is raw, introspective, and confrontational. It stands as a bold artistic statement within the contemporary extreme metal landscape.
Known for its intense and emotionally charged live shows, Haeresis offers a performance where devastating soundscapes merge with a dense, immersive atmosphere. A meticulously crafted light show further enhances the experience.
Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum's first single, "Echoes Of Ashes" - celebrated with an intense live video, professionally captured by Paloosa Productions during the band's performance at Berlin's De Mortem et Diabolum festival - was released in April. Link
