Brazilian post-punk/coldwave act Halleck has dropped a new single, "Silêncios" (Silences), via Paranoia Musique.

Halleck is a solo project of Thiago Halleck, who has become famous in the Brazilian underground scene as part of post-punk/gothic bands such as Gangue Morcego, 1983 and Das Projekt. Furthermore, Thiago is also known for being a talented and sought-after tattoo artist, imprinting a unique style on his designs.

With Halleck, Thiago walks through his most varied influences (post-punk, teenage films, new wave, glam, gothic rock, J-rock) that evoke the avant-garde music of the 70s and 80s, embracing textures and tinctures from artists such as Killing Joke, Joy Division, David Bowie and UK Decay. His singles were praised by specialized alternative media inside and outside the country. Furthermore, his debut album Genesis appears on several alternative media "Best of 2023" lists.

In its latest offering, "Silêncios", Halleck goes straight to the sources of Visual Kei, the musical and aesthetic movement of Japanese rock (with artists like Buck-Tick and X-Japan), and adds to the sauce all the sounds that Thiago loves so much from post-punk and European gothic rock. A vibrant and unsettling song about the silences we don't want to inhabit, the phrases that needed to be said but were silenced. Link
