Hidden By Ivy - Beyond (2017)

Band: Hidden By Ivy
Album title: Beyond
Release date: 24 March 2017
Label: Alchera Visions

Hidden By Ivy on this new album follows similar path like on their debut, but yet they managed somehow to make their sound a bit broaden. Beyond, is a fantastic emotional sonic journey that offers a lot. The world of Beyond is a world full of nostalgia, deep sensations, it's a world of visions and impressions, unnamed feelings, sounds that reflect longing for our old self. Lyrics talk about the search for the world that is behind the wall, behind a shut door, at the end of the road that we used to travel with our eyes closed when we were children and now we have completely forgotten. In here nostalgic dream-pop landscapes meet the new wave nervousness in a splendid way.

The Moon And The Nightspirit - Metanoia (2017)

Band: The Moon And The Nightspirit
Album title: Metanoia
Release date: 17 March 2017
Label: Prophecy Productions

The Moon And The Nightspirit offer on Metanoia a soundscape to make the listener return to the pristine and pure path of crystalline existence. The eight tracks featured on the album are boasting of multitudes of instruments and the beautiful, ethereal vocals of Tóth. It's like a dance of naked witches around the campfire deep in the enchanted woods. As magical and somehow psychedelic as it is, these soundscapes open up the gate into another dimension with use of various intruments like violin, acoustic guitar, woodwinds, piano, harp, dulcimer, flute, many different percussion and other instruments...

Endezzma - The Arcane Abyss (2017)

Band: Endezzma
Album title: The Arcane Abyss
Release date: 31 March 2017
Label: Pulverised Records

Endezzma came from Hell to this disgusting world by Trondr Nefas of Urgehal (R.I.P) along with Morten Shax. Endezzma has always had an unmistakable and attractive Norwegian style, and these guys remain true to their primordial style, yet they ventured further into the inclusion of distinctive elements like a clarinet in "Serpent Earth", making the music even more interesting, dynamic and absolutely awesome. They are spotless along with Aske and his brutal bass and Skriu on the unstoppable drums. Whoever appreciates Watain, Enthroned, Urgehal or similar,... this is for true black metal lovers, Endezzma is here and is one of your masters.

Phonothek - Red Moon (2017)

Band: Phonothek
Album title: Red Moon
Release Date: 4 April 2017
Label: Cryo Chamber

In a maddening daze, you are lost in a forest, the blood red moon comes into your vision every so often through the clearing of dense bush in front of you. The crackling of the forest floor trampled beneath your feet sends echoes as everything gets louder. The second album from this up and coming duo, morphs from a calm and melancholic landscape, into a more chaotic one. It oozes with originality and interesting high-tier sound sculpting making it perfect for audiophiles. Red Moon is a very entertaining experience that grabs your attention seldom letting you down to rest.

Reflection Nebula - I (2017)

Artist: Reflection Nebula
Album Title: I
Release Date: 17 February 2017
Label: Self-Released

Reflection Nebula (2010-present) is quite an unknown force in the ambient realm that deserves more attention. Starting off in the IDM scene with quite accessible, beat driven music while keeping the emotional vibe Reflection Nebula is known for. Able to lift you up and take you to the darkest reaches of the universe or possibly a journey from within. There is a lot of room in this album to reflect but also enough going on to keep you curious as to where this all will go. Seldom does this album let up near the end introducing heavy guitar riffing that deconstructs all sense of being at peace, sonically serving you the massive expanse that is space.
