LASTER - Shares Title Track From Upcoming Full-Length

Dutch avant-garde post-black metal outfit Laster has shared the title track of its upcoming full-length, Andermans Mijne, as the second single, which, along with the first revealed "Kunstlicht", awaits you in the player below. The stunning new full-length is slated for release on 13 October via Prophecy Productions.

Laster's drummer Wessel explains on behalf of the trio: "With our new single 'Andermans Mijne' we seek to reaffirm our love for twists and turns. The title track sets a densely layered, hypnotic tone for what is to come. Both halves of the song teasingly object against the listener's expectation. Expressions of cross-cultural lifestyles in late modernity, adultery, playful innuendos, and the self-other relation per se are deemed as central themes of the music's dissonance, which become laid bare on this track".

Laster is stylistically a jack-in-the-box, and the same is true for the fourth album of the Dutch trio. Every attempt to cram Andermans Mijne (someone else's mine) into any given pigeon-hole will be greeted with the next track jumping out again with a delighted devilish grin and a hearty slap on the wrist with a fan.

On Andermans Mijne, Laster continues its subversive work to experiment and to constantly warp and widen the framework of extreme metal with elements of indie and jazz-rock, shoegaze and art pop, as well as post-black metal and whatever else the Dutch deem fit for purpose. Despite all complexity, a wide sonic range, odd time signatures, and other musical intricacies, the result is surprisingly stringent and to the point - at times even catchy and groovy.

With Andermans Mijne, Laster delivers a bold fourth chapter of their ongoing story of a labyrinthian tale full of surprising twists, multiple layers, and fascinating new ideas. Link
