Polish dark pop/post-punk/ethereal wave newcomers Baśnia announced that a renowned producer, musician and composer Waldemar Sorychta, known for his remarkable work on the albums of such bands as Tiamat, The Gathering, Moonspell, Lacuna Coil and Tristania, and also the number of other notable atmospheric rock/metal productions from 90s and 00s, will visit Poland in July/August to record an album with them.
Baśnia were founded by singer and composer Baśnia Lipińska and are hailing from Warsaw and Łódź. The other members are Adam Kaliszewski (electric guitar), Łukasz Zaorski-Sikora (bass guitar) and Filip Onufry Jaremko (drumms). The recording session will take place in Warsaw, while the mix and mastering will be conducted in Germany with the participation of Dennis Koehne, a sound engineer who has been cooperating with Waldemar Sorychta for years. The band remains unsigned and is looking for a label to release their debut album.
Baśnia Lipińska reveals some details on the upcoming album: "It is very personal material. The songs are both, melancholic and rebellious. They touch upon the topics of equality, diversity, but also love. I think that the range of genres and sounds in which we operate, creates a very interesting mixture. Cooperation with Waldemar Sorychta is an exciting challenge for us and will be a great adventure at the same time. And, an interesting thing is that one should not expect a metal album at all. Waldemar’s response to our material was enthusiastic and we are going to record the album together in a form and style as proposed by us."
