Chicago-based dark pop artist Brittany Bindrim has released Sea Storm Maestros, a companion remix EP to her recent debut album Velella Velella, issued in March 2024 on Metropolis Records.
The EP contains powerful remixes by album producer Matt McJunkins (A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, The Beta Machine), Walter Flakus (Stabbing Westward, Stabwalt), Daniel Myer (Haujobb, Covenant), Cyanotic, and Greg Panciera.
"The unique spin on each of these tracks off the album offers something exciting and unexpected while honouring the spirit of the original song", says Bindrim. "I couldn't be happier with the outcome of this EP, all thanks to the incredible talents and interpretations of these powerhouse collaborators!"
The stunning cover artwork was created by Brittany Bindrim, featuring a vibrant, dynamic sea storm of swirling waves in deep shades of blue. Her blend of surrealism and abstract expressionism evokes a sense of both tumult and beauty, perfectly aligning with the theme of Sea Storm Maestros.
Already known for her catchy melodies and powerhouse vocal performances in her band I:Scintilla, Velella Velella saw Bindrim set sail on new sonic seas as a solo artist with hard-hitting, edgy tracks featuring punishing beats and harsh synthesisers. From moody, ethereal ballads to gritty dance bangers, the album showcased the evolution and versatility of her work. The remixes presented on Sea Storm Maestros are a further celebration of this while taking its listeners on a further unchartered journey. Link
