Berlin (Germany)-based dark electro/alternative dance duo ByDS released the first glimpse of their upcoming album entitled Our Long Weekend, which will be released this spring. The single "Regret" is out now and is accompanied by a music video directed by Brigitte Richter.
The lyrics of "Regret" stem from a poem written by Bee. In it, all decisions made in life are questioned. She had decided to leave music and art behind her and to change her path to give the family stability. The couple had two small children. She was working shifts in a hospital as a midwife. Diego was in Mexico with his sick father and Bee was exhausted and sad that day. This day was rock bottom. And what does she do? She writes a song. The loop of the beats in this tune has been a constant in their music and over the years reappearing and morphing again and again. This time inspired by life in Berlin and its techno scene together with simple but solid bass with a dark tint and exquisite guitars that characterize Diego's style.
ByDS have a varying sound that combines alternative rock pop with dark electronic Latin fusion trip-hop. Enjoy the trip now. Link
