Have you ever wondered what happened with the mighty band Ghost Brigade? Here's Ceresian Valot, a band born out of the ashes of it. The new Finnish heavy alternative band Ceresian Valot has signed a multi-album deal with Prophecy Productions. Their debut studio album will be released via the label in 2025. Ceresian Valot has partially risen from the ashes of the much-loved Finnish metal act Ghost Brigade, with which they share four key members; including main songwriter Wille Naukkarinen.
"When the first few songs of Ceresian Valot found their final shape, we realised that our music doesn't quite fit into any existing mold", guitarist Tapio Vartiainen writes on behalf of the band. "That's why having the chance to release our debut album on Prophecy Productions caused a wave of pleasure here at the Ceresian Valot HQ. We feel at home at a label that appreciates the feeling and atmosphere of music over narrow genre restrictions and also trusts their artists' own vision."
Prophecy Productions owner Martin Koller comments: "We are all thrilled to welcome Ceresian Valot. It does not happen often these days that a new act is signed, but in this case the time between their demo hitting my desktop and our first offer to the Finns was tellingly very short. Welcome!"
When four former members of much loved but sadly disbanded Finnish metal act Ghost Brigade got together for a conversation in their hometown Jyväskylä in late 2020, things escalated quickly into an unexpected direction. Finding common musical ground again, first, the idea of a studio project took shape. Yet soon bass player Ville Angervuori and vocalist Panu Perkiömäki joined, and then they were six: The band Ceresian Valot were born.
Musically, the Finns are exploring an exciting untrodden path that leads through heavy territory yet also visits alternative and progressive soundscapes, which are all drawn together into a new sonic panorama. The band also employs a strong DIY ethos as Ceresian Valot include songwriters, graphic designers, producers, mixing & recording engineers, and even a mastering engineer in their ranks.
During 2023 and 2024 the six-piece recorded their debut album, which is set to be released by Prophecy Productions in 2025. More pieces of information and the first music is expected to be revealed soon. Link
