Progressive/cinematic metal collective Disconnected Souls has released Fragments Of Consciousness (An Instrumental Perspective), an instrumental version of its debut album, Fragments Of Consciousness, released in January. The band has also shared a video for "Monachopsis (A Waltz At The End Of The World)".

"Monachopsis (A Waltz At The End Of The World)" is one of Disconnected Souls' most genre-extravagant tracks, incorporating jazz elements, alongside harp, organ and dynamic vocal lines. Filmed in the grandiose setting of a historical Welsh estate, this dystopian narrative reveals that not all surface-level appearances should be believed.

The track, taken from the band's debut album Fragments Of Consciousness, lands in conjunction with the album's instrumentals, and the arrival in CD format via Layered Reality Productions.

Felix King comments on "Monachopsis (A Waltz At The End Of The World)": "'Monachopsis' is a theatrical venture into the pre-apocalypse. We join our protagonists as they dance and drink at the last hurrah- enjoy the spoils of civilisation, you can't take it with you. We hope you have fun watching it as we did getting to make it. Thanks as ever to the friends and professionals who made this possible".

Disconnected Souls emerged in 2018 out of a desire to incorporate and blend the three great pillars of music: electronic, classical and metal. Following its debut EP, Warring Elements, in 2020,  the band has since released a diverse array of singles leading up to the debut album. The quintet, based out of Chester, England, strive to create a distinctive sound that draws upon the depths of metal while playing with tones and textures. Each member brings a diverse range of musical interests to the table, and the resulting sound encompasses various instrumental and vocal styles. Disconnected Souls takes its name from the growing disconnect between humans, both from each other and within ourselves, and the increasing rift with the natural world.
