Over a decade after its 2012 debut album, Mournful Cry Of A Dying Sun, Jordan's melodic doom/death metal band Falling Leaves returns with its sophomore full-length, The Silence That Binds Us, set for release on 5 September.
The album features eight emotionally charged tracks and includes guest contributions from Paul Kuhr (Novembers Doom) on vocals, Ariel Perchuk (Kenziner, Roger Staffelbach) on keyboards, and Fabio Alessandrini (Bonfire, Annihilator) on drums. The renowned Dan Swanö handled mastering, further elevating the album's sonic depth.
Falling Leaves vocalist, Bashar Haroun, says about the album: "This album marks an important chapter for us. After so many years, it feels great to finally share something we truly believe in. Every song reflects a piece of who we are today - honest, emotional, and real. We're proud of what we've created and excited for everyone to hear it".
Formed in 2009, Falling Leaves emerged from the shadows to carve out a distinctive niche within the melodic doom death metal genre. Spearheaded by a shared passion for creating music that encapsulates the profound and often melancholic aspects of the human experience, the band drew deep inspiration from doom metal icons such as My Dying Bride and Novembers Doom.
Falling Leaves' music is a tapestry woven with the themes intrinsic to doom metal: despair, existential dread, and the passage of time, reflecting a haunting exploration of life's darker passages. With an atmosphere that is both heavy and melodic, the band transcends the typical confines of its genre, crafting soundscapes that are as introspective as they are intense.
Now, after over a decade, the band returns with its second album, The Silence That Binds Us. Mixed by Alessandro Comerio at Daemon Star Studio in Italy and mastered by the legendary Dan Swano, the album is a mature and emotionally charged testament to its growth and perseverance. With lyrics written by Murad Juneydi and guest appearances by Paul Kuhr and renowned session musicians, the new album marks a powerful continuation of the band's legacy. Link
