Russian dark electro powerhouse Freaky Mind have unveiled “Before I Go”, a collaborative single created together with Polish industrial rock/dark pop act Her Own World. The track serves as a glimpse into Freaky Mind’s upcoming EP, Slow, which is set for release on 24 April via darkTunes Music Group.
The Slow EP marks a deliberate shift in perspective for Freaky Mind — a step away from their high‑impact club sound toward something more introspective and emotionally charged. Reflecting on the concept behind the release, the band explain that the idea emerged shortly after their 2022 self‑titled album: “We wanted to experiment with alternative versions of our songs, to make them breathe differently and evoke new emotions. That’s when the first demo of ‘Before I Go’ appeared — an ambient reinterpretation of ‘One Night’, recorded with our Polish colleagues Her Own World. The idea rested for a while, but after releasing Gradient and collaborating with Omnimar, everything clicked into place. The alternative version of ‘Trust’ came together instantly, and we realised this release was meant to happen.”
Slow invites listeners to abandon expectations and sink into a calmer, more atmospheric space — a quiet moment before the next storm in Freaky Mind’s evolution.
With “Before I Go”, the band reveal a side of themselves rarely heard: fragile, minimalistic, and deeply human. The track unfolds as a melancholic duet with Her Own World, capturing the moment when love dissolves into silence. It’s a song built on emotional distance, unspoken words, and the soft ache of parting — the sound of goodbye wrapped in tenderness. Link
