Following The Geometry Of Ruin, introduced in May, GIO now share their new full‑length testimony: Sanctified Hunger, a twelve‑track album constructed in three acts and framed as a declaration of witness. Across the first ten tracks, GIO — an immortal narrator who has watched every era claim divine sanction for its cruelty — lays out five centuries of evidence, observing how institutions, wars, and ideologies repeatedly invoke holiness to justify harm. Then, the narrator steps aside. The album's closing pair, "I Am Crying" and "In My Name", are written and delivered in Christ's own voice, ending the record with grief, judgement, and a stark reckoning over what has been done in His name.
GIO writes from the vantage point of an immortal witness — one who has lived through every system, conflict, and doctrine, always watching, never intervening until now. The patterns are accelerating. The testimony cannot wait.
Sanctified Hunger was recorded at Dragon's Blood Studios (Retromatic Studios), produced and mastered by Blake Carpenter, and released via GIO's own label, Morella Records. Link
