Berlin‑based darkwave act Night Nail have released “Vile Train”, the first digital single from their forthcoming album Infinite Fountain, due on 6 November via Icy Cold Records. The track arrives together with a new video, offering a stark and immersive introduction to the album’s psychological terrain.
“Vile Train” was sparked by a moment of haunting clarity experienced by vocalist/guitarist Brandon Robert while wandering the ash‑laden ruins of Pompeii. A Roman fresco depicting an angel and demon locked in a tragic embrace became the catalyst for a narrative about two dreamers from separate modern realities who collide at the edge of their fantasies. Their obsession burns fast — sharing cigarettes, leather, desire — before curdling into a nightmare that traps them in a self‑constructed psychological cage.
Sonically, the track channels Night Nail’s signature blend of brooding electronics and shadowed guitar work, unfolding as what Robert describes as “dark and brutal truths about love sung in a twisted but beautiful way.” The single was mixed and post‑produced by William Faith at 13 Studio in Chicago, with co‑production handled by Night Nail in Berlin and additional vocals and guitar contributed by VV & The Void.
