The UK/Spain gothic/doom metal band Opia unveils the first single and video, "On Death's Door Part I", from their debut album, I Welcome Thee, Eternal Sleep, which will be released on 25 April via the Dutch label Hammerheart Records.
The video, directed by Olga Kann and starring Anastasia Danilkovich, Vadim Laschev, and Vadzim Swirski as "The Ghost," delivers a cinematic descent into despair, weaving atmospheric beauty with the crushing weight of doom.
The band comments: "We've opened every Opia set to date with this track and it was the first one we ever recorded with Timmy Vincent and Abraham Fihema. There are various songs on I Welcome Thee, Eternal Sleep that feature a greater degree of harsh vocals or a greater degree of clean vocals, some songs push more towards extreme metal, others more towards melody and atmosphere. We picked 'On Death's Door Part I' for the first single because we feel this song displays a lot of the balance in the different elements that make an Opia track." Link
