Sweden's Proletarian Poetry have unveiled a new track, "The Greatest Of Thieves", taken from the forthcoming Shouting In Despair EP, due for release at the end of April.
"The Greatest Of Thieves" is inspired by the dramatic and criminal incident that took place in the Western Hemisphere on 3 January, along with the events that followed. Musically, the track remains electronic and heavy, but leans far more than previous releases towards EBM and industrial influences.
Proletarian Poetry are based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Their inspiration stems from EBM and synthpop, combining these sounds with socially critical lyrics that reflect on the warlike and inhuman world we inhabit. The project takes a clear stand against warmongering, injustice, and the threats facing the planet's survival.
The first single, "Demonize Dehumanize", was released in February 2024. Since then, Proletarian Poetry have issued three EPs comprising fifteen songs, with a fourth EP arriving this April.
Live performances are also on the horizon. The first show will take place in Gothenburg on 21 November, alongside the Turkish darkwave band Ductape. Link
