The best‑kept secret of the Finnish alternative dark rock scene, Rain Diary, have released a new single, "Naive", taken from their forthcoming album Night Church — the long‑awaited and notoriously challenging third record — due out on 27 March via Inverse Records.
Rain Diary are a Finnish rock band known for crafting beautiful yet twisted darkwave soundscapes. Their music is rooted in Finnish melancholy and shaped by the imagery of evergreen forests, nightless nights, and snow‑covered wilderness. Yet the band consistently break free from the familiar HIM/Nightwish stereotype by breathing fresh life into the genre. Their sound blends an urban edge with pulsing electronics and sharp pop sensibilities, making Rain Diary essential listening for fans of Depeche Mode, Placebo, and similar acts.
Their distinctive style has fittingly been described as "winterwave". Link
