Anticipation is building for the release of Sinistro's fourth album, Vértice, produced by Miguel Tereso (Gaerea, Analepsy) and due on 4 October under the banner of Alma Mater Records, the Portuguese record label run by Moonspell's frontman Fernando Ribeiro. The enigmatic doom outfit has unveiled the second single, "Elegia", from its upcoming album alongside an evocative video directed by the talented Henrique Reis and edited and colour-graded by Liv Weiss.
Listening to "Elegia", it becomes evident that Sinistro has crafted a work that is both direct and powerful yet elegantly infused with the fine nuances reminiscent of a cinematic masterpiece. Reflecting on this track, the band shared: "Sinistro sees 'Elegia', as the most straightforward, driven song on the album while seamlessly carrying the nuanced sensibilities of a film soundtrack as in their previous albums. The theme was inspired by the poignant chronicles 'Mãe do verbo amar' by the Portuguese writer Baptista-Bastos. 'Elegia' is a homage to birth, existence and the enduring love of our mothers". Link
