Italian atmospheric black metal band Svart Vinter released a new single and video, "Of Cold And Grief", taken from the sophomore studio album, Isvind, which will hit stores on 30 May via Non Serviam Records. Isvind was mixed and mastered by Svart Vinter's frontman Andrea Maggioni at Decomposed Design Studio. The album's artwork is based on an original photo by Autumnal Mood Photography.
The band commentrs: "With its chilling atmosphere and relentless intensity 'Of Cold And Grief' paints a picture of a world plunged into eternal winter, where light is fading, and the cold is the only constant companion. This track is an exploration of the raw, unyielding nature of grief, death, and the solitude that follows. It is a journey into the heart of winter, where the cold is not just a season, but a reflection of inner torment."
Though relatively new to the scene, Svart Vinter has quickly established itself in the underground black metal community. Their debut album, Mist (2022), received critical acclaim for its raw intensity and evocative atmosphere. The album captures the essence of traditional black metal while adding a fresh, emotional depth.
Their music is more than just a reflection of black metal's harsh sound - a journey through darkness, atmosphere and emotion, a tribute to the genre's past while looking toward its future. Link
