The Kovenant was formed as a symphonic black metal act Covenant in Norway in 1993. Following a dispute with a Swedish electronic band of the same name, in 1999, the band subsequently changed its name to The Kovenant. The change also saw a musical shift into an industrial metal-influenced sound. Link
