INHUMAN

Inhuman is a Portuguese metal band, formed in December 1992, in Silves (Algarve), one of the oldest and most historic towns in Portugal. João Pedro Correia (guitar), José Vairinhos (drums), Diogo Simões (keyboards), Rogério Sequeira (bass) and Pedro Garcia (vocals) have so far recorded three full-length albums and three demos and always stood out from the majority for their ability to combine influences from the UK rock and doom masters like Paradise Lost and early Anathema with their unique brand of melodic and catchy songwriting, which distinguish them.

Since their first effort with the Pure Redemption demo (1995), Inhuman has excelled as a band, and its studio albums Strange Desire (1996) and Foreshadow (1998) were met with amazing enthusiasm by both crowds and critics. Eleven years after their last release- The Beast Is Rising, and front of their 30th anniversary, they released their most ambitious and remarkable album yet, strongly and suggestively entitled as Contra, which was recorded under the supervision of Daniel Cardoso (Anathema, Angelus Apatrida, Ava Inferi).

The album caught the attention of Fernando Ribeiro (Moonspell), and consequently Inhuman signed with his label Alma Mater Records, where Contra was released on 6 November 2020. Contra- technically impressive and greatly complexed gothic metal masterpiece is predicted to be one of the best albums of the year for Portuguese metal and marks the band's strong return to the scene. "The malediction reigns forever!" Welcome back, Inhuman! And you (potential) listeners have the opportunity to listen and judge for yourself- this Thursday (4 February) on [Dark] UNKNOWN.
