Interview with: Corey Roth
Conducted by: Will Ring
Brimstone Coven is a doom metal/hard rock band formed in Wheeling, West Virginia, United States in 2011. Since their incarnation, Brimstone Coven has become one of the most respected and well known bands from their area. As of this post, they have released three full length records, Brimstone Coven (2014), Black Magic (2016) and What Was And What Shall Be (2018), and have shared the stage with legendary acts such as Eyehategod, Pentagram and will be playing with King's X on 9th December. Their newest album, What Was And What Shall Be, is out since July and got very good response from fans and media. Echoing the eerie reverberations of hard rock heavyweights such as Black Sabbath and Pentagram, mixed with the classic rock style of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, Brimstone Coven has created a vintage sound and style all their own. Check out the short interview I did with Corey Roth.
Will: What instrument/role do you play in the band?
Corey: I play guitar and share vocal duties with Andrew D'Cagna.
Will: How would you describe your sound to someone who's never heard it before?
Corey: Late 60s/early 70s hard rock style with three part vocal harmonies. Creepy and moody.
Will: To what movie would your music be the perfect soundtrack for?
Corey: That is a good question. Maybe Rosemary's Baby, Last House on the Left, or The Amityville Horror.
