Former Italian now relocated to UK electronic trio Grimmates just recently released their new EP entitled London System via Stridente Records and have now made available online a new music video for the track "MonstroCity".
All three members appear in the video disguised by masks. Phillip Raymond Goodman provides the vocals which were freestyled in the studio of fellow band member Angelo "SSiCk" Russo, who is the producer. Sam Enthoven plays theremin, adding a haunting dimension to the soundtrack. This is the latest chapter in the Grimmates story which started in 2013 in Sicily, Italy, with three founding members of which Angelo is the only remaining. After successful gigs in Europe, the debut EP Grimmates was released in 2014. Now, having relocated to London, Grimmates is back!
"MonstroCity" is an electronic dance music track with a compelling beat and a catchy chorus, but rather than being a mainstream pop song it has an element of eeriness and obscurity, particularly as the lyrics speak about the masses in shopping centres and the disappointment in the growth of our consumer society.
