THY DESPAIR - New Video Premiered Online

Ukraine's gothic/doom/black metallers Thy Despair, who have just recently released their new album, The Song Of Desolation, are now sharing with fans their new music video for the track "Army Of Dead". A symphonic dark metal band that blends black, gothic, doom, symphonic and melodic death elements into their sound along with vocals being sung in both English and Ukrainian, Thy Despair's new album The Song Of Desolation follows the band's 2018 debut EP Free One. Some of the album's lyrics are influenced by the war in eastern Ukraine. Watch now Thy Despair's new video in the player below.

The band explains the story behind track "Army Of Dead": "A princess is in despair as her beloved knight fell in battle. She asks a magician if he could do something. The magician turns out to be a powerful necromancer and raises the fallen warrior into a flesh-craving zombie. The moral is that when you consider the things go extremely bad you should still think of what you are doing as it can always get worse."

The band founder Nephilim says about the album thematics: "It is a great tragedy for the nation and the main idea of these songs is that you should always fight back and keep freedom in your heart and mind. Lyrics of other songs are inspired by local legends or life experience."

The album as a whole features ten tracks each with its own tale to tell and a statement that unites all of them together. Thy Despair released The Song Of Desolation on 8th May via Rockshots Records and are surely a material which will appeal to fans of Draconian, Tristania, Insomnium, Dimmu Borgir and the likes. Nephilim adds: "Even when everything goes extremely bad, you should still stay strong, struggle, and hope for the best, otherwise you won’t survive or will turn into a backboneless slave." Link
