SHAPE OF WATER - New Single And Video Premiered Online

British alternative art/synth rockers Shape Of Water have revealed a new music video and single for the song "Scar". The video was directed by Luca De Falco at Luca De Falco Artworks, and features appearances by The Fool, Death, The Magician, and other popular characters from the Major Arcana of the Tarot. The song is taken from Shape Of Water' upcoming debut album Great Illusions, which will be out on 12th June via Eclipse Records.

New album Great Illusions was produced by Paul Reeve (Muse, Beta Band, Supergrass) with Sky Van Hoff (Rammstein, Kreator, Caliban) mixing the singles, "Not All The Things" and "Scar".

"Scar" is the third single from the band's new full-length and vocalist Rox Capriotti has this to say: ""The song was originally written about the emotional scars left between ex-lovers. For the video however, we wanted to do something more universal and emotional. We had these grand plans in place for the original concept however when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the lockdowns prevented us from shooting." Guitarist Luca De Falco continues: "I was thinking about the meaning of The Fool card in the Tarot, and how it sometimes represents new beginnings or spontaneity, but may also represent naivety or folly. It seemed like a perfect parallel to lovers after a breakup, so we went with that theme in creating the video."

Great Illusions is the band's debut album, which contains a broad scope of genres best described as alternative rock mixed-up with metal and synthwave overtones. This is something different... a dreamscape of emotions brought to life by the band's surreal, unique songwriting style. Link
