Swedish five-piece alternative metal/post-punk band Past Five have released a brand new video for the track "God Forbid". The track comes off their latest EP, Detox., which was released in May via Eclipse Records. The video was directed by Ste Calder at Stereo 27 Productions and you can watch it in the player below.
"This song is about a relationship that is coming to end and in a way it's a sequel to our song "Clichés" (from our EP Somewhere Between Serenity & Rage)", says guitarist Jonathan Yderhag. "But where "Clichés" is more mournful of the relationship dying, "God Forbid" is written much more so from a point of frustration and desire to move on."
Past Five is a band from Borås, Sweden. Since forming in 2015, the band has solidified themselves as a unique and exciting force to be reckoned with! Detox. is produced by Christian Silver (Dragonforce, Arch Enemy, Soilwork) and (as the name suggests) the EP is a musical cleansing of a period of turmoil, despair, and self-destruction, which almost prevented the band from evolving in 2018. The songs address different subjects ranging from addiction to suicide, and ultimately a conquering of these toxic destructive situations and relationships. With hard hitting grooves, dystopian lyrics, and heart-breaking melodies, Detox. is bound to leave few unmoved. Link
