WILDFIRES - New Sigle And Video Released

Austin (USA) based dream-pop/shoegaze band Wildfires have released a brand new single, "Belongs To The Night", and it is presented as a video directed by Raphael Umscheid. Wildfires are a dreamy shoegaze rock band but nothing like you are imagining. It's more like listening to a good mixtape on a long overnight drive, laced in nostalgia, shimmering blurred scenery, and a cool night breeze.

After a mind swirling and life-altering four-year hiatus, Wildfires are back with a new track and finally a full-length album. "Belongs To The Night" is the first release from the upcoming self-titled album due out in January 2021.

Gabe Baldwin comments: "As a band, we are all into the occult and UFOs. We wanted to put those themes into the record, but not in a corny sci-fi way. We wanted it to be in a weird stream of consciousness, a dreamlike thing. More like UFO as a backdrop into existentialism. UFOs more of a psychedelic experience than a nuts and bolts aliens and spaceships thing. So we put in all these samples that tie the songs together with a focus on lights in the sky, and loss of time."

Facing personal struggles, life and death are what kept the band playing and writing music and in turn became the glue that kept the pieces together when the road ahead seemed nothing but rocky. Their new self-titled full-length mirrors that period of turbulence and uncertainty through a distorted and sonic therapeutic ride into a dreamy hazy shoegaze existential lens. Watch now the video, and listen to the dreamy - rather post-punkish textures of "Belongs To The Night" in the player below. Link
