HILYARD - New Album Out Soon, Title Track Available For Streaming

Maine (USA) based dark ambient act Hilyard will release a new album titled Division Cycle on 23rd February via Cryo Chamber. Hilyard is a multi-genre music artist/sound designer with a heavy focus on creating immersive and often long-form dronescapes. A bit of a nomad, Hilyard has lived in many places both rural and urban but now resides in the quiet fog soaked forests of Maine on a family homestead.

Hilyard utilizes his own found sound and field recordings along with an array of instruments and organic noisemakers to sculpt his ambient dream worlds. Much of his music tends to be minimalist which can also dive into cinematic ambient and a bit of modern classical. Give a listen to the album opener, the title track in the player below. The album artwork and mastering was done by Simon Heath of Atrium Carceri and Sabled Sun fame.

About the concept of Division Cycle: Under the solemn gaze of Furthermore the gears of hatred and wrath grind down the bones of humanity into sustenance, digested deep within the bowels of the earth, where the roots of its ancient trees pull the flesh from the ramparts of civilization and giants move as clouds of remnant dust above the lungs of the Internal Forest. Beneath our feet the earthquakes with hunger below, awaiting the spoils of The Division Cycle to rain down and fertilize the Innermore landscape. Link
