UPON WINGS - New Single Featuring Ralf Scheepers Of Primal Fear Released

USA based female-fronted symphonic/operatic rock/metal act Upon Wings released a brand new single named "Eternal Way". The song is featuring Ralf Scheepers of Primal Fear and Gamma Ray fame, and a sky-high guitar solo from Falling In Reverse lead touring guitarist Max Georgiev. "Eternal Way" is a passionate song about love and loss, and it stays in line with Upon Wings' familiar themes of faith and eternal hope.

Upon Wings hails from Michigan and can be described as female-led operatic rock and metal with a classical influence. Frontwoman Anne Autumn Erickson is a classically-trained vocalist who was inspired to start a band after hearing the operatic vocals of Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson and Judas Priest's Rob Halford.

"I grew up singing opera but fell in love with rock and metal music", Erickson says. "All the bands I loved were heavy with ripping vocals. After hearing bands such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, which featured operatic vocals, I was inspired to start Upon Wings, because it suddenly felt possible to use my natural voice amid a hard-hitting backing."

Slaves On Dope guitarist Kevin Jardine produced, mixed, and performed additional guitars on "Eternal Way", along with Peter Tzaferis of the band performing on drums. Grammy award-winning producer Glenn Brown mastered "Eternal Way". Most recently, Brown scored Best Bluegrass Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

Upon Wings' debut EP, Afterlife scored the band positive reviews in publications around the world and airplay on SiriusXM Octane and a range of other stations. Metal Hammer magazine has described Upon Wings as, "hypnotic gothic rock that flits between symphonic and operatic metal while showcasing Anne Autumn Erickson's dramatic vocals. Less bombastic than Tarja and not quite as flowery as early Within Temptation, but with a charm that is all its own."

Upon Wings takes listeners down a path of heartfelt introspection, pain, joy, and faith. Upon Wings is for those who value intrigue and adventure. Listen to "Eternal Way" in the player below. Link
