THYRFING - Released A Video For The Track From The Upcoming Album

Swedish Viking/pagan metal veterans Thyrfing today revealed their latest video single "Järnhand". The track comes off the band’s forthcoming Vanagandr full-length, set for release on 27 August via Despotz Records.

"Järnhand", which translate as "iron hand", showcases a familiar side of Thyrfing. Commanding and melodic in equal measure, it boasts a dynamic power, switching between blast beats and grooves at will with swirling folk elements of which Thyrfing are masters. The epic clip video directed by Patric Ullaeus of rEvolver (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Europe).

Comments the band: "Another single track, and I think it holds many of the typical Thyrfing elements from later years, having both grit and guts, but also melody and mood. It could probably have fit in quite well on the Farsotstider album back in 2005. The lyrics is about perfection of power and the urge to cling to it at any cost."

Thyrfing emerged from the ever-growing underground scene in Sweden back in 1995. After seven full-length albums and numerous live performances worldwide, the band stands among the most revered of the viking/pagan metal genre and 2021 will prove that Thyrfing is so much more with a truly outstanding and self-contained musical offering.

Monikered in honour of the sword "Tyrfing" in Norse mythology, a cursed blade that appears in several tales and myths, mythology has played a profound role in the scenery and imagery of Thyrfing’s music and lyrics, something which is still intact in 2021.
