FATHER BEFORE ME - Releases A New EP And Streams A New Video

Father Before Me kicks off their sophomore EP, Ruby, with four brand new anthemic tracks. Fans of the debut Emerald will immediately recognize Father Before Me's signature blend of catchy melodies, fast beats and intricate guitar work. The new EP Ruby is faster, breathier, more explosive, and notably more mature. As always, savvy Father Before Me listeners already know that each of these songs contains ample pop culture nods. The EP was self-released on 25 June, together with the official music video of the first of four EP's track "Behind The Veil".  The artist Elijah Catrone, states: "This EP was a reflection of the climb and the tribulations I've faced in the last few years. It is a testament of survival in environments where you seem doomed to fail but still finding the power to persevere through even the darkest of times".

Established in 2019, progressive skate-punk band Father Before Me is the passion project of NYC based musician Elijah Catrone, a songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, bassist and drummer. To honour his late father, Elijah founded Father Before Me as a way to pay respect to those who came before us, show gratitude to those with us, and pave the way for those to come. Father Before Me blends catchy heavy metal riffs, fast-paced skate punk rhythms and progressive instrumentation.

As for the "Behind The Veil" track - is a true working-class anthem. The story is universal - selling one's own mind and soul just to make enough to get by. Giving your all every day only to receive a tip of the hat in return. Father Before Me reminds us that "your mind's not for auction, your soul's not for sale." Feeling underappreciated and taken advantage of, but your worth can't be measured. The accompanying music video is an animated feat - a first for a Father Before Me video - exploding in colours and mind-bending imagery that bring the lyrics alive. Check it out below. Link
