UK masters of dark/doom/death metal Consecration have signed a new deal with Redefining Darkness Records and have completed work on their highly anticipated third album, thus an exciting new chapter in their shadowy career is now underway.
Redefining Darkness, the label based in Cleveland, Ohio (USA), can boast an incredible roster of diverse global extreme metal talent, united by a core aesthetic that seeks to shake the foundations of accepted normality. The label's mission statement sums up exactly what they are all about - and why Consecration will fit so perfectly into their plans going forward: "There was a time when heavy, unfiltered, and dangerous music was harvested and supported by those unafraid to venture to those parts of the mind and soul unknown to the masses; the very left-hand path of the psyche that when tapped flows through one's veins for eternity. Redefining Darkness aims to quench that very thirst for heavy music that not only epitomizes metal, but also pushes it further to new, exciting, and unique boundaries. While many labels and distributors are content with capitalizing simply on the commodification of "dark" and "evil" music, Redefining Darkness seeks artists whose artistic visions and musical endeavours challenge the norms of society and the underground itself."
Speaking about their new label Consecration have issued the following statement: "It is with great pleasure that we can announce our signing to Redefining Darkness records for the release of our third album. We have been aware of Redefining Darkness for a while now, and they were a firm favourite of ours. Needless to say, their excellent reputation speaks for itself. Being in good company with UK bands Celestial Sanctuary, Coffin Mulch and Seven Doors, as well as a label that has worked with bands like Temple Of Void, 1914 and Sentient Horror; we feel this is the perfect home for us and are looking forward to our future partnership together!"
Consecration's last album, Fragilium, was released through Solitude Productions and received great reviews from around the world. For a small taste of what to expect from this monolithic partnership in the months to come, click on the play button in the player below. Link
