Two "too long" years have passed since metalheads last enjoyed MetalDays' vacation in Tolmin (Slovenia), surrounded not only by great music but also by the astonishing nature of the confluence of two mountain rivers called Tolminka and Soča.
The first metal festival on this location took place in August 2004, organized by Austrian promoter Rock The Nation and Slovenian Master Of Metal (MOM d.o.o.). Back then and till 2012, it was called Metalcamp. Ever since new promotors took over the festival in 2013, the festival has been held under the MetalDays name. However - the Slovenian metal festival maintains a great reputation among metal music fans, with up to 15.000 attendees per year.
This year MetalDays festival was postponed to the next year, though a half shorter and all-in-all stunted version of it - (sub)titled The Weekend Of Solace, takes place from 29 July to 1 August, on the second stage only. The promoters had to follow the regulation given by the authorities, which has reduced the number of tickets to 4000 (3000 festival tickets and 1000 one-day tickets) but are still available for purchase online or at the Box office. The festival tickets cost 79 €, and the one-day tickets 34 €; camping and parking are included in the price. You can purchase tickets HERE, while for more information, click HERE.
While Mist, Srd, Metalsteel, Decapitated, Inmate and Morost's performances took place yesterday or today already, you still get to catch Skyeye and Moonspell (22:30 - 00:00) tonight, and/or Manntra, Brutal Sphincter, Noctiferia and Igorrr tomorrow.
As much as Terra Relicta dark music web magazine would like to offer its readers some reading material concerning this year MetalDays, it won't due to the MetalDays promoters' decision to exclude the press, what's a pity - not only for journalists and other press stuff but mostly for musicians - especially, regarding - hopefully, "passe" - "Corona times".
