Between sonic tension and mystical wave, the universe of the French dark post-wave rock trio Mona Kazu draws its inspiration from noise, jazz, indie rock, coldwave... with a multi-faceted inhabited voice as the guiding thread. The third album Steel Your Nerves will be released on the 12th of November on the historical label Falls Avalanche Records for France, Urgence Disk Records for Switzerland, and Atypeek Music for digital.
For its recording, Priscille (vocals, keyboard) and Franck (guitar, mandolin, programming) have invited the drummer Régïs Boulard (Laetitia Sheriff/Trunks, Sons Of The Desert, Olivier Mellano,...), with his inventive play and a great musicality. This new formula has led them in a direction that they wished to take for a long time: more direct compositions, privileging the sensitivity of the play and the emotion.
The band is inspired by and surrounds itself with visual artists, such as Kathy Aponi, a painter who draws its matter in the symbolism and the raw art; Parvati, street artist, painter, drawer and illustrator of dreamlike style; or Luc Bernad and his rhythmic lines by music and dance.
