Vancouver (Canada) based electronic medieval dark folk band Hem Netjer have released a brand new single and video "Void". This is the first single from our upcoming album, The Song Of Trees, featuring a medieval stringed instrument called a Rotta Lyre, haunting synths and Hem Netjer's unique blend of throat singing and female vocals. This album incorporates tracks that represent interpretations of the five elements, earth, air, fire, water and void.
The band comments: "Our goal with "Void" was to create a trance-like atmosphere that speaks to the idea of darkness and self-reflection. To look within yourself and acknowledge those sides we often try to suppress and accept them as a part of ourselves."
Raven Rissy plays traditional instruments like the Rotta and a variety of percussion, David Deckard uses modern motion detection technology to perform synth lines in a new way, and Jesse Ellytt adds his unique style of throat singing, all combined together with RavenRissy’s vocals. "Void" was recorded at Jacknife Sound with Jason Corbett of Actors and produced by Scott Fox from iVardensphere. The music video and promotional material was shot by Joey Chaos. Link
