SVALINN'S RIFT - Releases Debut EP

Hungarian viking/black metal band Svalinn's Rift has recently released its debut EP, Unpenitent Era.

Svalinn's Rift was formed in the late 90s in Hungary, and over two decades after, the band released its debut record - EP titled Unpenitent Era, which consists of four brand new tracks in the style of Norwegian black metal from the early 90s. The EP was self-released on 24 February in digital format only. Lyrically this EP tells about Norse mythology and Vikings battles.

Svalinn's Rift comment on Unpenitent Era: "Our first EP is a kind of obeisance for the Norse mythology over and above its nature permeates the essence of the Viking lifestyle. Moreover what could be more appropriate to express the mood associated with it than black metal. After all, the beauty of the devastation done during the territorial conquests and the pagan spirituality is matched with our feelings, which we express through our music".

"We have a small project studio, there was no question of whether the work would take place elsewhere. We were able to take full advantage of it, both in terms of scheduling the recordings and polishing the imagined raw and aggressive sound. We also did the digital post-production on the cover artwork and the compositing from the base images", the band adds about recording and cover artwork.

And, Svalinn's Rift on itself: "The was band formed in the long gone, in the late 90s. We were young, inexperienced, and we had just started playing musical instruments, so we were inevitably doomed to fail. But from the fall, the strongest friendship was forged. We went on our musical journey separately, but the desire to bring back our music to life with the original members from the first formation was always there in our heads. Now, armed with what we have learned over the past decades, the flame burns the same way it did many years ago. It is time to accomplish our original plan".

Now here comes the Unpenitent Era. Link
