Stereoskop is breaking fresh ground with their sixth album Silk, set for release on 1 April via Reptile Music. After previous releases mainly focused on dark electronic music, its most recent output combines analogue synth-wave rhythms with atmospheric guitars, shimmering dream-pop sounds and ubiquitous 80s spirits.
Alex Brujas (guitars, synths and drums) and Susana Egea (vocals and synths) already gave the first taste of their new direction with the two singles "The Mist" and "Hazel Eyes", which comes to full maturity on the 12-track album. The musical influences of the Spanish duo range from Vangelis to Cocteau Twins to New Order and John Carpenters' soundtracks, while the lyrics are inspired by sci-fi and romantic literature of the 18th century.
As a result, Silk is predominated by lush reverie and opens the door to a cosy dreamland in a world gone mad. You can assure yourselves by recently revealed single/video "Hazel Eyes". Link
