UK black-metal collective Sacred Son has just shared a single/video for a new song off the band's forthcoming new album The Foul Deth Of Engelond, due out on 13 May via True Cult Records. Directed and edited by Dane Cross, with additional photography by Matteo Bianciotto, the video for "Le Blakheth" is now available, also in the player below.
Vocalist/bassist and main songwriter Dane Cross on the new video: "Shot in woods near to Theydon Bois - whose villagers took part in the revolt - the film depicts a pair of serfs who are repeatedly harassed and subjugated by a tyrannical and brutish nobleman. Upon witnessing a radical preacher delivering a rousing anti-villeinage sermon, the empowered serfs decide to fight back. After fatally wounding the nobleman, they set off to join the revolt".
Recorded by Chris Fullard (Ulver, Sunn 0))), Boris, etc...) at Holy Mountain Studios in London and mixed by Randall Dunn (Wolves In The Throne Room, Earth, Kayo Dot) at Circular Ruin Studio in New York, The Foul Deth Of Engelond chronicles the 1381 Peasant's Revolt and intends to weaver historical record with speculative inversion, recounting this fierce and tragic Great Uprising as a proto-revolutionary moment in English history that echoes loudly into our own toxic and fragmented present.
