Louisiana (USA) based black/death metal trio Faustian have inked a record deal with the Swedish extreme metal label Black Lion Records. The band has also released their very first public single, "Birth Of Apparitions", taken from the upcoming debut self-titled EP, which is set to be released on the 7th of October.
Recorded by James Whitten (Thou, High On Fire, Eyehategod), the four-track EP delivers a unique style of blackened death that seamlessly shifts from razor-sharp maelstrom to dirge-like grime as the three-piece meld violent urgency and claustrophobic atmosphere into a frenzied sonic catharsis. Faustian features members of Barghest and other South Louisiana stalwarts.
