STAYTUS - Debut Album Out Now

The USA-based artist Staytus has released her debut 13-track album, Disease Of The Mind, a seismic first strike on the goth/industrial scene where she sings about heartbreak, despair, resentment, and reality slipping away. Staytus is Sam Grundemann, and she wrote, sang, produced, and recorded Disease Of The Mind, as well as played every instrument on the record. Built on elaborate synth-scapes, with distorted, warped guitars and pulsating beats, the album's industrial soundscape takes you on emotional catharsis.

Since the age of 15, instrumentalist/songwriter Sam Grundemann has steeped herself in writing and recording her material, posting individual tracks while acquiring a string of degrees and certifications in audio production. Being patient and deliberate, however, has paid off - with Disease Of The Mind, Staytus has crafted a lavishly detailed opus that envelops the senses as it pulls the listeners into its own sonic universe.

With an aggressive industrial metal sound that would make fans of genre heavyweights like Nine Inch Nails, Odonis Odonis, Black Dresses, Orgy, Static-X and God Lives Underwater proud, Staytus is constantly challenging the norm, with a nod to what has come before, while staying truly original and exciting in her delightfully destructive delivery.

Staytus comments: "For those who haven't listened to my music before, I can describe it as nu-goth, which borrows elements from industrial rock and grunge rock. It's a journey that takes you into the mind of somebody struggling with mental illness".
