Finnish dream-pop newcomers Her Shadow just released their debut album, The Ghost Love Chronicles. To accompany the album release the band is unveiling a moody music video to the last single track "Devil Inside".
"The music video is a visualisation of the dream noir world that Her Shadow inhabits, but seen through a slightly darker pair of shades", comments guitarist and songwriter Tomi Henttunen. "It is a beautifully tragic Lynchian nightmare, realised professionally by Lotta Ruutiainen."
Singer Anna Carolina describes the session: "One of the smoothest productions I've ever been part of. The music video supports the song perfectly, as successful videos do."
The birth of Her Shadow was inevitable. Old friends, guitarist-songwriter Tomi Henttunen (Royal Lips) and keyboardist-lyricist Markus Laakso (Kuolemanlaakso) had a versatile but very different background in making music but a shared obsession with Twin Peaks and Lana Del Rey. The original idea in 2016 was to combine the best of both worlds and spice up the mix with film noir and dream-like elements - to make music that they love, but had never done before.
Her Shadow offers dreamy pop music with moonlight melodies, heavenly hooks and Lynchian twists. The ethereal soundscapes come to life in a dream noir universe oozing with catchy choruses, Morricone motifs and vintage sounds interweave with state-of-the-art production. Link
