TERZO - Unveils New Video/Single From Upcoming Debut Album

The darkwave/drone/shoegaze duo Terzo, featuring alternative pop/rock artists Billie Lindahl and Karl Clinton, today unveiled their new single, “Cymbeline”. The rousing track comes by way of the band’s self-titled, debut full-length, set for release on the 21st of April via Icons Creating Evil Art.

Terzo is Italian and roughly translates to “the third”. The name represents a third presence the darkwave/drone/shoegaze duo felt in their most creative moments. Karl Clinton (former bass player of cult post-punk act Diskoteket and co-founder of improvisational project Tsantsa) and Billie Lindahl (lead singer and guitarist of dream pop/dark folk act Promise And The Monster) make up this enticing new constellation, born from their mutual love for doom and gloom, gothic rock, folk, and medieval music. More than that, Terzo is described as a statement and a craving to break free from the pressure and framework of today’s music industry and society.

Billie Lindahl comments: "Originally this is a Loreena McKennit song with lyrics from the Shakespeare play Cymbeline. We had a feeling that we could make something interesting with it, so we started to record. Karl did most of the instrumental work, guitars, and programming. I recorded the vocals in one take in a rehearsal space in Uppsala. This song means insanely much to us. It was the first thing we did as a duo, and I think we just sort of understood that we could do great things together. I don’t know why, but we always pictured something in documentary style to this song. It just felt right. So Johan brought his little DV camera and filmed everything that we did hanging around. It really is very raw and like just captures the things we did in those days.” Link
